Winter in the studio

WINTER IN THE STUDIO

When the days get shorter and the air turns crisp, the studio becomes its own kind of hearth. Winter is made for clay. The quiet helps you focus and the rain invites you to slow down. Whether you are shaping a mug, making a gift, or carving out time for yourself, Ilwaco Artworks is here for your winter rhythm.

ALL DECEMBER CLASSES

Sat, 1/10/2026: Shakers & Sets w/Lexie Koch | 2pm-6pm $60.00

Come shake things up with us! Students of any skill level will learn about sculpting items solid in order to make cohesive, multi-piece sets. Though students can make shakers for any occasion, we will be focusing on sets in this class that contain 2-3 pieces. What would your shakers hold?

With her BFA in Crafts from Kutztown University, Lexie Koch is a craftsperson nestled in the quiet town of Columbia, NC. As the Ceramics Studio Coordinator at Pocosin Arts, she interacts with artists from all over the world in ceramics, textiles, mixed media, and more. If you were to catch her at home, you'd probably find her learning a new skill, playing video games, or half-finishing any number of projects.
