  • Workshops and DIY sessions are open to all levels unless otherwise noted. We do also have intermediate classes.

  • Clay can be messy. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Dress Warm. Aprons are available to borrow.

  • Yes. N/A drinks are allowed in lidded, non-glass containers.

  • No food in the studio but you may snack in the gallery or at the picnic tables outside

  • Our studio itself is ADA accessible. We are working on an ADA accessible bathroom. Stay tuned.

  • Children 12 and older are welcome to any of our classes with an accompanying adult. Children under 12 may only be in the studio when enrolled in a scheduled youth class.

  • We offer private parties, clay parties and DIY sessions but no private 1:1 for the public at this time.

  • Register online at ilwacoartworks.org or in person with a staff member.

  • Participants can customize a pre-thrown mug or work freely with two pounds of clay. Sessions run most Wednesday–Sundays 2-5pm.

  • Clay, tools, instruction, and firing are included.

  • After taking at least two Clay Plays with us, you can purchase a membership online.

  • Our wheels are for wheel class attendees and studio members on a first come first served basis.

  • Ilwaco Artworks uses and sells cone 6 Laguna and Tacoma clays.

  • We aim for a 3-4 week firing window. You will be able to track your piece through Kilnfire.

  • No. Pieces must dry and be fired before pickup or shipping.

  • Studio members and visiting artists may apply to sell in the gallery through our gallery curator.

  • Yes. The studio is a branch of Sou’wester Arts, 501(c)3 which includes programming at the Sou’wester, a Montessori preschool and us!
