Payment:
Payment up-front. We accept cash, checks or cards. We can also invoice you beforehand, if you’d prefer. Please stop in during open hours to drop-off your work and pay for your kiln rental.

The studio is not responsible for pieces that break during the firing process or get thrown out/donated if abandoned for more than 90 days.

RENTING OUR KILN

Firing Fees: 
To be included in a portion of regularly scheduled loads at Cone 010 or Cone 6 (Staff loads & unloads):

  • $10 for one item (approx 6"x6" inch cubed)

  • $35 for 1/4 shelf (quarter circle shelf 10.5" x 5.5")

  • $50 for half shelf (half circle shelf 21” x 10.75”) 

  • $90 for whole shelf (circle shelf 21” diameter)

Entire Kiln:

  • $150 for the entire kiln. Staff will fire your kiln load to any temperature up to Cone 6.


Things to know:

  • All outside clays and glazes must be cone 6 and approved by the studio manager. (All studio members have access to all in-house glazes.)

  • Any burnouts or alternative firing techniques need to be approved by the studio manager. Please email ilwacoartworks@gmail.com


When you're ready to bisque (cone 010) your work:

  • Please place your work on a studio wareboard.

  • Fill out a firing slip and place paper slip on the wareboard with your work.

  • Place the wareboard on the “to be bisqued” shelf.

  • We bisque to cone 010 usually on Mondays & glaze fire cone 6 on most Fridays. (This schedule changes in some weeks so double check with the studio manager if needed.)
